November is Homeless Awareness Month

Homeless Awareness Month is intended to bring attention to who our homeless and to dispel many of the stereotypical images associated with it.  There are literally thousands of homeless individuals in Ontario and Lindsay is no exception.

At 10 pm Wednesday evening, police were called to a Kent Street banking facility in Lindsay with information that an individual was sleeping inside the automatic banking vestibule. A 45 year old man was located seeking shelter from the cold.

“A Place Called Home” provides shelter to over 300 people every year and prevention services to thousands more.  “A Place Called Home” opened their doors to give this man a warm place to sleep last evening.  Thank you.
